Benzoate Degredation

Description: The compound Benzoate is a light yellow or colorless liquid that is used as a solvent for synthetic musks and vanillin. It is a common aromatic compound in anaerobic organisms metabolism. Benzoate's salts are also used in food preservation. Additionally Benzoate is an important precursor for the synthesis of several organic substances.

Benzoate Degradation occurs via hydroxylation, a chemical process in which a hydroxyl group is introduced into an organic compound.
